Overview
United Fluid Power (UFP) partnered with the client’s engineering team to design, manufacture and commission a purpose-built Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) for a specialised robotic application. The project required a high-quality hydraulic solution that could be delivered within a compressed timeframe while providing the flexibility, reliability and safety features required for the application.
The complete HPU was successfully assembled, tested and commissioned within three weeks, meeting the client’s delivery schedule without compromising quality or performance.
Approach
Working collaboratively with the client’s engineering team, UFP supplied and integrated premium hydraulic components from Rexroth, Stauff and Sun Hydraulics into a custom-designed HPU package.
The unit incorporated in-house fabricated stainless steel tubing and was engineered to provide the flexibility of operating in either Load Sense (LS) or Pressure Compensation (PC) mode, allowing the hydraulic system to be configured to suit the specific robotic application.
To maximise operational reliability and equipment protection, the HPU included multiple safety interlocks monitoring oil level, oil temperature and system pressure, automatically protecting the system should operating parameters fall outside acceptable limits.
Supporting the client’s environmental objectives, the hydraulic system was filled with biodegradable hydraulic oil, providing a more environmentally responsible solution without compromising hydraulic performance.
Outcome
UFP delivered a fully integrated, purpose-built Hydraulic Power Unit within the client’s required three-week timeframe. By combining quality components, in-house manufacturing capabilities and collaborative engineering support, the project provided a reliable hydraulic solution tailored to the application’s operational requirements.
